Environmental law and NGT practice

About Environmental Lawyers

Environmental Lawyers is the environmental law practice of Advocate B.K. Singh & Associates. We help factories, builders, hospitals and businesses deal with pollution boards and environment authorities, and we help residents, RWAs and farmers who want pollution near them stopped. That means notices and closure orders, consents and clearances, compensation demands, and cases before the National Green Tribunal and the courts.

Why we focus on environmental law

Most people come to us at a bad moment. A factory owner whose unit has just been sealed, a builder whose site has been stopped, a hospital asked to pay compensation, or a family that has lived for months with smoke, smell or sewage next door. Each of them is suddenly dealing with a regulator or a tribunal that has its own rules, its own forms and short deadlines.

Read every paper, tell the client plainly what the law allows, and write down every deadline on the first day.

How we start every matter

Environmental cases are rarely just about law. A board wants to see the ETP working, the consent renewed and the returns filed. A tribunal wants proof, not promises. So we usually start by asking what can be fixed quickly, then decide whether a reply, a meeting with the regulator, an appeal or an NGT case will actually solve the problem. And we stay with the matter until it is closed.

We don't promise results. We do promise to read your papers properly, file on time, and tell you what happened after every hearing.

Who we help, and how

A factory facing closure, a builder needing clearance and a colony living with pollution each need a different plan. Here is how we usually help.

Notices and closure orders

Replies to show-cause notices, closure and power-cut directions, compensation demands and penalty proceedings, with a plan to get the unit running again.

Consents and clearances

Consent to establish and operate, environmental clearance, forest clearance, groundwater permission and coastal approvals, applied for in the right order.

Waste, EPR and compliance

Hazardous and biomedical waste authorisations, plastic, e-waste and battery EPR, compliance checks and GRAP rules in Delhi NCR.

Residents and RWAs

Complaints about factories, STPs, building sites and waste burning, taken up with the board and, if nothing happens, before the NGT.

Builders and projects

EC conditions, STP and handover disputes, construction dust rules, tree felling and the approvals a project needs from start to finish.

NGT cases and appeals

Applications and appeals before every NGT bench, compensation claims, and appeals to the Supreme Court.

How we take a matter forward

Every file is different, but most of them move through the same four stages.

  1. Step 1

    Listening and reading

We hear your side, then read the notice or order, the consent and clearance papers, inspection reports and test results. Every deadline is worked out on day one.

  2. Step 2

Checking the facts on the ground

We look at what is actually happening at the site: what has been fixed, what hasn't, what the regulator has on record, and what other cases or orders already exist.

  3. Step 3

    Choosing the route

A reply to the board, a revocation request, an appeal, an NGT application or a High Court petition. You get our honest view of each option, what it costs and how long it is likely to take.

  4. Step 4

    Filing and appearing

We draft, file and appear before the board, the NGT or the court, and update you after every hearing so you are never left guessing.

What you can expect from us

We listen first

We get the full picture before giving any advice. Two notices that look the same can need very different answers.

Confidentiality

Inspection findings and test results can hurt a business if they spread. What you tell us stays with us.

Plain language

We explain your rights and options without legal jargon, so you can make your own decisions.

Focused experience

Pollution board matters, environmental approvals and NGT cases are what we work on day to day.

Honesty about outcomes

We tell you what's realistic, including when fixing the problem beats a long fight.

Organised, step-by-step support

From documents to hearings, you always know what happens next and what we need from you.

In our clients' words

Reviews shared by people we have worked with on Google. Every case depends on its own facts, and past results don't predict future outcomes.
